There’s something magical about the Mallorcan coast that never stops inspiring me. No matter how many times I return, the island continues to surprise me with hidden corners, quiet calas, and sunlit walks that feel like they’ve been waiting just for me.
I’ve always believed that some of the best moments don’t happen when you plan every detail — they unfold when you take your time, walk a little further, and stay a little longer. Here are a few of my favorite seaside walks and secret swim spots that have become part of my personal Mallorca rhythm.
Sunrise Walks in Sa Ràpita
There’s no better way to start the day than with an early morning walk to the Sa Ràpita lighthouse. As the sun slowly rises over the horizon, the sky turns into a soft watercolor painting — pink, lavender, and warm golden tones blending into the sea. The path along the coast is quiet in the mornings; it almost feels like you have the world to yourself.
I usually take a walk there aound 7AM, wrapped up in some comfy sweater as off season ist already a bit chilly in the morning, walking down the shore, breathing in the salty air and listening to the waves roll in. If you keep your eyes open, you’ll often find tiny seashells scattered along the shore, little treasures gifted by the sea. It’s one of those simple, grounding rituals that remind me why I love this island so much.
Cala Deià — A Refreshing Escape
Cala Deià is no secret, but it’s still one of my all-time favorite places on the island. A tiny pebble beach nestled between dramatic cliffs and olive groves, with turquoise water that glistens in the sun.
Come early, especially in high season — the parking is very limited, and the cala fills up quickly. Early mornings here are pure magic, when the sun hits the water just right and everything is still quiet.
I also love coming here in January or February for a cold plunge. There’s something invigorating about jumping into the crisp sea on a cool winter day. It wakes up every cell in your body — and afterwards, wrapped in a warm towel, you feel alive in the most beautiful way.

Port de Valldemossa — A Tiny Hidden Gem
Tucked away beneath winding mountain roads, Port de Valldemossa is a small, charming harbor that feels worlds away from the busier coastal towns. The swimming spot here is intimate and peaceful, with clear water and views of the rugged cliffs surrounding you.
It’s also home to one of my favorite places to eat on the island — Restaurant Es Port de Valldemossa. Their fresh fish and mussel paella is truly incredible, but make sure to reserve ahead, especially during summer. A swim followed by a long, leisurely lunch overlooking the sea — that’s what Mediterranean days are made of.

Picnics at Cala d’es Llombards
This is my go-to spot for a slow, dreamy sunset picnic. On Saturdays, I love starting the day at the Santanyí market — stocking up on juicy oranges, sun-dried tomatoes, good bread, and olives. With a little basket of snacks packed, I head down to Cala d’es Llombards in the late afternoon.
As the sun begins to set, the sky turns into soft cotton candy shades, casting warm light over the fisherman’s huts built into the rocks. Sitting there, barefoot, with simple food and the sound of the sea — it’s one of those moments where time slows down completely.
Why These Places Matter to Me
These coastal walks and swims aren’t just about beautiful views. They’re my way of reconnecting — with nature, with myself, with creativity. Watching the sea change throughout the day, feeling the sun on my skin, noticing small details like shells or the way light dances on the water… it’s here that I get some of my best ideas for &Friends.
Whether it’s a sunrise walk, a cold plunge in winter, or a sunset picnic with friends, these rituals have become my touchpoints — the moments that bring me back to what truly matters.
